Summer Courses for Modern Hebrew at Kraków University in cooperation with the School of Jewish Theology at Potsdam University

This year, Potsdam University’s Summer School for Modern Hebrew will be organized by our partner faculty, the Institute of Jewish Studies at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Our Summer School will offer four different levels of Modern Hebrew. Each intensive course will offer many exercises in reading, listening comprehension, and conversation. Students will also be given short quizzes or writing assignments and will take a final exam on the last day. The course languages will be English (for instructions) and Hebrew (for conversation and exercises). Material and concept of the courses will be organized similar to an academic Ulpan (intensive Hebrew course in Israel). Please note: Due to the pandemic the Hebrew lessons will be held digitally.

In addition to the online language course, interested participants of the Ulpan are invited to come to Kraków for lectures on the history and culture of Jews in Poland, Israeli culture and literature and for on-site tours andcultural activities in Kraków. Please note that travel expenses, accommodation etc. need to be paid and organized individually by the participants. Please contact the email address below if you need assistance. The number of places for the on-site activities in Kraków is limited due to the pandemic. You need to be accepted and registered for the Ulpan first.
