GitLab, the manufacturer behind Git.UP, has published a notice today about a serious security vulnerability that allows, among other things, the takeover of third-party accounts.
As of today, Git.UP is not affected.
Nevertheless, we have decided to make Git.UP only accessible from the university network until the update is installed.
Please use the university VPN to access Git.UP from outside the university.
The decision to restrict the accessibility of Git.UP was made in consultation with the Information Security Officer of the University of Potsdam.
