Guided Tour - German Bundestag

Join us for an English-language tour of the Bundestag in Berlin, where you will gain unique insights into the workings of the German parliament and the country's political history. During the tour, you'll explore the iconic Reichstag building, including the historic plenary chamber, the glass dome designed by architect Norman Foster, and learn about Germany’s democratic processes and decision-making mechanisms.

This event is subject to strict registration requirements. The tour is scheduled for Saturday, 5^th July. The registration is binding, and only those who sign up on time will be able to participate. We kindly ask that you register via email by 6^th April.

Picnic on Friendship-Island Potsdam

Let’s have a Picnic at Friendship-Island Potsdam and enjoy the summer weather on the waterside of river Havel! We warmly invite you to our International Picnic Series taking place during this year’s summer months of July, August and September. These events are open to everyone who would like to meet fellow students, PhD students and researchers, connect across different fields of study, and spend some enjoyable time together during the summer break. We will provide some games and blankets, but we kindly ask you to bring your own food and drinks. You can also get something to eat or drink at the Inselcafé on the island. If you would like to take-part, please send us an e-mail.

Zoom Meet Up for new researchers

17^th July | 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Our regular Zoom Meet-Ups are addressed to soon-to-be-arriving or just-arrived scientists in Potsdam, and we would like to bring you a bit closer to your new home and give you tips for excursions in the region. In addition, we will provide you with some hints for the flat hunt.

You can get to know each other a bit better and make contacts with scientists and PhD students already living here locally. If you would like to join us and meet your international colleagues, please send us a short message.  We will then send you the details.

Workshop: Intercultural Communication

23^th +24^th July | 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. each day

We warmly intivite you to participate in an interactive workshop by our colleagues Lydia and Pia, who are trained coaches for intercultural communcation. The workshop addresses all international colleagues, who would like to learn more about cultural comparisons. Together we want to work out, why intercultural communication is so important for our everyday work.

The workshop is free of charge and will take place at Telegrafenberg campus. You will receive a certificate of attendance. Please register by sending us an e-mail.

Stand Up Paddling in Potsdam
