6th General Assembly

The 6th General Assembly of SPP 2238 DOME will take place from 23 to 27 March 2026 in Wetzlar, Germany. The meeting is open to all members of the DOME community, as well as interested researchers from related fields.  Invited speakers from academia and industry as well as the DERA will contribute with insights into current research and projects.

The meeting will begin with arrival on Monday, 23 March, followed by two full days of scientific presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday, including talks by the invited speakers and the contributions from the DOME researchers but also young researchers outside of DOME can take part and present. On Thursday morning, we will continue with a short excursion to the historic Grube Fortuna in Solms, an iron-ore mine that preserves the mining heritage of the Lahn–Dill district. The program will continue with a combined proposal-writing and scientific-writing workshop.

Arrival and informal welcome dinner.

Tuesday & Wednesday

Two full days of scientific talks: invited speakers and presentations by early-career researchers.

Thursday morning 

A short field trip to the historic Grube Fortuna (Solms), one of the last classic iron-ore mines in Hesse.

Thursday afternoon & Friday morning

A workshop session on proposal writing & scientific writing — a chance to learn and exchange best practices for future funding and publication.
