Continue Education Abroad for Employees

Erasmus+

Experiences abroad, as well as foreign language and intercultural competencies, constitute the foundation of a university that is open to the world, hospitable, and has a welcoming culture, supported by all employees, for international students, scholars and guests.

The Erasmus+ program offers administrative and technical services employees the opportunity to engage in continuing education at European partner institutions. The program offers the opportunity to travel to partner institutions in order to discuss experiences, to observe teaching, and to participate in further education. The stay abroad offers the following advantages: The travel and accommodation costs are financed at a flat rate. The minimum stay at the partner institution should not be less than 2 working days, and should not last longer than 60 days for UP employees. More information can be found with our internal calls for proposals.

Support can be provided to university staff at a German institution of higher education for the purpose of further and continuing education at another university that participates in the Erasmus+ program, or at an institution located in another program country that is active on the labor market or in the fields of general and professional education, or youth work. This activity promotes the professional development of university staff through continuing education abroad (aside from conferences) or through visits at a partner institution or similar institutions abroad.

On the page staffmobility.eu you can find a list of all staff mobility weeks. Funding for these weeks can be applied through the programs for advanced training through Erasmus+. Staff Mobility Weeks are usually organized by universities, aiming for a better connectivity and the ability to learn from each other. Even though (or probably on account of this) participants are often grounded in different areas at their home institutions, the learning effects are very high. Some of the Staff Mobility Weeks have thematic focal points.

Furthermore, participation in language courses and intercultural training are supported and funded. Please contact the Erasmus+ Coordinator, Pia Kettmann, for further questions.
