Dr. Alejandra Rodriguez-Sanchez

Alejandra Rodríguez Sánchez hat an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Soziologie promoviert (2022) und arbeitet derzeit als Postdoc an der Universität Potsdam. Zuvor war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am DeZIM (Berlin) und an der Universität zu Köln tätig. Nach ihrem Grundstudium der Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Soziologie an der Universidad del Valle (Cali), Kolumbien, absolvierte sie zwei Masterstudiengänge an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, einen MA in Research Training for the Social Sciences und einen MSc. in Statistik.  Alejandra setzt in ihrer Forschung Methoden des maschinellen Lernens ein, um explorative Datenanalysen durchzuführen und kausale Inferenzdesigns in der angewandten soziologischen Forschung zu verbessern. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Migration, Familiendemografie, statistische Modellierung und computergestützte Sozialwissenschaften.

Alejandra Rodríguez Sánchez holds a PhD in Sociology (2022) from the Humboldt University of Berlin and is currently working as postdoc at University of Potsdam. Previously, she worked as research assistant at DeZIM (Berlin) and the University of Cologne. Following her undergraduate studies in economics and sociology at the Universidad del Valle (Cali), Colombia, she completed two master’s degrees at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, a MA in Research Training for the Social Sciences and a MSc. in Statistics. Alejandra’s research employs machine learning methods to perform exploratory data analysis and improve upon causal inference designs in applied sociological research. Her main research areas of interest are migration, family demography, statistical modeling, and computational social sciences.
