Long-Term Mobility

In 2026, the Department of Primary School Education will celebrate 25 years of exchange partnerships with European higher education institutions as part of the Erasmus+ and SEMP programs. Two Danish institutions have been involved since the beginning: VIA University College in Aarhus (since 2001) and the University College Copenhagen (since 2002). In 2006, two Austrian institutions joined: the Private University College of Teacher Education Burgenland in Eisenstadt and the University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria in Baden. Currently, the department has eleven partnerships in five countries. Up to four students from each institution participate in a semester-long exchange per partnership each academic year.

Short-Term Mobility

Although long-term stays are still in demand, there is a growing trend toward short-term stays of five to 30 days in exchange programs. The 20th and 25th anniversaries are ideal times for the Department of Primary School Education to expand its offerings to include short-term mobility and launch this new program with its oldest partner institutions. We plan to begin with a study visit to Copenhagen, followed by a visit to Eisenstadt.
