Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award for joint research on cosmopolitanism
Nominated on behalf of Ottmar Ette (Professor of Comparative and Romance Literature at the University of Potsdam), the French philosopher Olivier Remaud (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales – EHESS, Paris) receives the prestigious research award by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The Award carries a value of 45.000 Euro and is meant to further develop the academic ties between the EHESS and the University of Potsdam.
The French laureate is internationally renowned for his research on social philosophy and political science, focusing especially on cosmopolitanism and cultural theory. To initiate the academic exchange, Remaud will come to Potsdam as a visiting professor starting in April 2013.
