What is ISOLDE?

ISOLDE is a biannual international summer school for Infant Studies On Language Development in Europe.
It is specifically organised to bring together students and early stage researchers who work in language acquisition research in Europe to increase exchange and collaboration between young researchers.

When and where does it take place?

The 4th Summer School ISOLDE will take place from 14 to 18 of June 2021 exclusively online.

Who can participate?

Primarily the summer school is targeted at PhD students and Post-Docs but Master and Bachelor students are welcome, too. Every participant is invited to present a poster on past, ongoing or future studies.

Are there any deadlines?

The registration is 31 March.

What are the costs?

ISOLDE 2021 will be free of charge. We ask all applicants to provide a motivation letter convincing the ISOLDE team of how the topics of the summer school are relevant to you.

How do I apply?

The registration form is online.

Only teaching - No fun?

The teaching can and will be fun. We plan to have some social activities as well. There will be a poster session where you can present your own research (plans) and some online activities unrelated to research.

When did ISOLDE take place before?

The first ISOLDE took place 4–9 July 2014. The second ISOLDE was part of the PredictAble Summer School from 27 June – 1 July 2016. ISOLDE 3 took place from 11-15 June 2018. Impressions as well as some information about the contents can be found here.
