DESCRIPTION:6 November 2026 at University of Potsdam\n\nBuilding networks for women in science and sparking conversations on careers and family\n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce our Women in Science Day, taking place on 6 November 2026 at the University of Potsdam.\n\nThis special event will celebrate the achievements and experiences of women in the life sciences, with a focus on fields such as plant biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and data sciences.  Beyond highlighting excellent research, the event is designed to strengthen networking among female scientists and to address structural challenges such as balancing family life and a scientific career.\n\n\n\nThe program will feature:\n\nScientific presentations by female researchers across different career stagesPersonal insights into career paths, challenges, and successes as women in sciencePanel discussions on topics such as gender equity in science, navigating career and family life, and building supportive research environmentsInformal networking with our invited speakers, offering the opportunity to exchange ideas and ask questions in a relaxed setting\n\n\n\nInvited Speakers:\n\nEva Stukenbrock – Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Botanical Institute, Environmental Genomics\n\nVerena Grass – Federal Ministry for Transport (BMV), Chief Data Officer\n\nTerezie Mandáková – CEITEC, Central European Institute of Technology\n\nViola Willemsen – Wageningen University and Research, Laboratory of Cell and Developmental Biology\n\n\n\nWomen in Science Day will provide a platform for dialogue, inspiration, and networking across disciplines and generations.
