Report of intent to pursue doctoral studies

The prerequisites for doctoral studies on the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences are a degree with honors in a main subject area within economics or the social sciences from a university or equivalent institution, and the participation of two supervisors from the Faculty.

The new Regulations for Doctoral Degree Studies apply to dissertation proposals that began as of 25 June 2014. For dissertation projects that began before these regulations came into force, the Regulations for Doctoral Degree Studies of 27 August 2002 (AmBek No. 2/2003) apply, as modified by the amendments of 29 February 2012 and 20 June 2012.

Further information on documents needed to report your intent to pursue doctoral studies and to enroll as a doctoral student you can find on the

webpage of the Division of Student Affairs.

For your application for admission to pursue doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Potsdam you need in general

  • Register online as a doctoral researcher at the University of Potsdam;
