Once you have completed your dissertation, submit a written application to commence the doctoral examination procedure to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Include the following documents with your application:
1.) Four bound copies of the dissertation with page numbers as well as one copy in printable pdf format on CD or USB;
2.) A short summary of the dissertation’s contents emphasizing research goals and methods;
3.) A signed curriculum vitae in German or English outlining the applicant’s academic career in particular;
4.) A police clearance certificate (Führungszeugnis), applicable to everyone admitted before 25 June 2014;
5.) Proof that you fulfill the admission requirements (evidence of participation in two doctoral colloquia);
6.) Affirmation and assurances (statement under oath) about
7.) A declaration of consent allowing the dissertation or body of writing submitted in lieu of a dissertation to be checked using plagiarism software.
„I hereby affirm under oath that the information I have provided with regard to former participation in doctoral examination procedures is correct, and that the work I have submitted, or major segments thereof, have not been submitted for the acquisition of an academic degree so far. I furthermore declare that I have complied with the German Research Foundation’s Proposals for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice, that I wrote the dissertation on my own and without outside help, that I did not use any other aids aside from those indicated in the source citations, and that I have identified works from which I have quoted directly or paraphrased passages as such. I allow the dissertation or body of writing submitted in lieu to be checked using anti plagiarism software.“
