Projektbeschreibung:

Urban flash floods are caused by short and intense rainfall followed by rapid concentration of surface runoff in the urban landscape. This project has three specific aims that are related to the quantification and management of urban flash flood hazards: (1) establishing and benchmarking parsimonious techniques for hazard mapping based on high-resolution digital elevation models; 2) studying the potential of water retention and enhanced infiltration on reducing flood runoff in urban areas; and (3) urban flood forecasting based hazard maps and radar-based rainfall nowcasting.
