“Evidence-based foreign language research – Meta-analyses on factors determining effective foreign language teaching and learning” is the title of my current post-doc research project (Habilitationsprojekt). The aim of this unique research project in Germany is to empirically verify well-established foreign language teaching and learning methods for the very first time. By conducting meta-analyses of the available data, substantial empirical evidence will be extracted to serve as a basis to make informed decisions on the effectiveness of specific teaching and learning methods. The ultimate aim is to empirically establish factors determining the effectiveness of foreign language teaching and learning.
