Cultural and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences focuses on issues related to culture, society, and communication.

The faculty’s departments include Communication Studies, Sociology, and Psychology. The goal of the program is to prepare students to work in Turkish-German institutions and companies with an international focus.

The combination of cultural and communication studies is advantageous for students, as it provides them with the expertise needed to work within Turkish-German “professional cultures.” TGU also specializes in the study of digitalization, which is incorporated into the discourse on “digital humanities.”

The faculty maintains Erasmus cooperation agreements with the University of Bayreuth and the Technical University of Ilmenau.
