(born Antoniewicz)
Post Doctoral Researcher
I am a postdoctoral researcher and fascinated by automatic mental processes that facilitate or inhibit health behavior. I finished my PhD on “Automatic evaluations of exercising” with a strong emphasis on forward-thinking basic research in June 2016. Prior to that I completed a diploma degree in sports sciences with an emphasis on prevention and rehabilitation.
Furthermore, I am the ERASMUS coordinator of the Department of Sports and Health Sciences and help staff and students to realize their stay abroad. For more information on the ERASMUS program see:
https://www.uni-potsdam.de/de/international/outgoing/studium/erasmus.html
The overall goal of my research is to answer questions like “Why do people behave that way?”. I focus on the link between motivation and behavior within a framework of dual-process theory. I am especially fascinated by the idea of measuring and, even more, changing automatic evaluations toward various health behaviors.
Investigating phenomenon like the Affective Forecasting effect or automatic evaluations is at the core of my research program.
I am an enthusiastic instructor and highly appreciate interactive class room situations that promote intellectual growth of each student.
My perspective on teaching has developed towards a holistic learning-oriented approach. I enjoy working with various innovative teaching methods as well as blended learning tools and provide E-Learning tasks that allow to pursue own interests and ideas inside and outside the classroom.
