This year, a record number of six participants took to the stage. Mathis competed against five strong researchers from a variety of disciplines. The topics ranged from protecting wildlife in the Galápagos Islands by addressing pollution from water transport (Maria Loyola Plua) and the importance of critically addressing racism, with a particular focus on schools, (Anja Störmann) to grass and biomass production and their applications (Shahsharif Shaikh). And, of course, nowadays no event is complete without AI! Two talks were directly related to this field, exploring the limitations of ChatGPT as a medical advisor (Dr. Christoph Abels) and comparing how humans and large language models read and process texts (Dr. Dario Paape).
