  • The preisident of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Alijew held a talk on a reception at the Hotel Adlon on February 15 2007
  • Meeting with Prof. Dr. Kazim Azimov, from the University of Baku in Berlin, conversations about the possibilities to institutionalize German classes and studies (comparable to American universities) or a "University of Potsdam in Baku" at the University of Baku on occasion of the German EU Council Presidency (2007) and the Azerbaijan Cultur Year in Germany (2008) on 12-01 and 12-14-2006.
  • The Azerbaijan culture week took place (04. - 14.10.2006). Azerbaijan participated in the Intern. Book Fair in Frankfurt (4.-8.10.) as well as an exhibition of young Azerbaijan artists (Berlin; Galerie der Künste) and a concert of the federal chamber orchestra of Azerbaijan (with the tenor Samir Dschafarov, the soprano singers Dinara Aliyeva and Aserin, a Mugham group and singers Bayimchanim Mirsayeva & Teyyub Aslanov, and the members of the dance company of Azerbaijan; Kammermusiksaal der Berliner Philharmonie: 10.10.; Neues Schloss Stuttgart: 12.10. und "Frankfurter Hof" Mainz: 13.10.).
  • Meeting of Prof. Dr. W. Fuhrmann with Mrs S. Gulijeva, the official representative of the German exchange organisation ICX (International Cultural Exchange - Deutschland; ICXchange-Deutschland e.V.) in Baku. This year 5 of  30 pupils came to Berlin. The subject of the conversation was the idea to setup an exchange program for both universities (students and academic staff (Berlin 08/23/2006).
  • First workshop of the chairman of the German-Azerbaijan-Forum with the foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan S.E. Mr Dr. Elmar Mammadyrov in Berlin 07/07/2006. (with Mrs S. Patzer-Ismailova and Prof. Dr. W. Fuhrmann).
  • II. Forum of World Azerbaijanis, Baku from 15/03- 19/03/2006; participation of Mr Dr. A. Sultanow and Prof. Dr. W. Fuhrmann, both from the Potsdam University, in a group of delegates with Mrs B. Scheffer, Ch. Neumann. The receptions with ministers and TV-interviews were the more pleasant parts.
