The concept of the program "Science meets Market (EPE)"

Occupational orientation within science and business

Scientists are increasingly confronted with multidisciplinary management and leadership tasks. Universities need to do their part to prepare their highly qualified scientific staff for future careers.
The University of Potsdam and the Potsdam Graduate School have set themselves the goal to support their early-stage researchers by enhancing the competence profile of PhD candidates and postdocs of the University of Potsdam and its partner institutes within the Potsdam Research Network pearls with regard to a career orientation outside of science.

Program development and partners

The program Science meets Market (EPE) was developed by Potsdam Transfer, the centre for startups, innovation, transfer of knowledge and technology at the University of Potsdam, headed by Professor Dieter Wagner during the time of program development. As an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented professional training, the program is financed by EXIST-III and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology (BMWI).

In 2010, the Potsdam Graduate School integrated the program into its further education program, and is since closely cooperating with Potsdam Transfer in order to continually improve the program.
