On June 13, 2019, the PoGS members elected Maren Schjeide and Helga Behrmann as Phd candidates' representatives for 1 year at the general meeting. We thank them very much for their commitment.
In May 2020, the PoGS members elected their new Phd candidates' representation for 1 year:
I learned to appreciate the Potsdam Graduate School and its workshops and seminars in the course of my time as PhD candidate. We still gather frequently in a group of five people to discuss and reflect on our progress and current situation. I particularly value the interdisciplinary approach of the programmes. My own research subject also connects different fields of Humanities.
I would love to help other PhD candidates and contribute to the helpful discussions and conversations.
I am a Max and PhD candidate at the Human Rights Centre of the Faculty of Law. The topic of my dissertation is: "Game-changer Internet: How the Internet changes international law". With the topic of my legal dissertation, I would like to make the progressive restriction of digital space - in short, fake news laws and freedom of the press - the subject of my research. In order to find new legal solutions for international law to deal with freedom of expression on the Internet.
As soon as I began my doctorate, my professor recommended that I apply to PoGS. Since then (2017) I have always felt very comfortable as a member. Now I would like to give something of this good feeling back to PoGS and the other PhD canidates. This I want to do with the task as PoGS PhD candidate spokesperson.
Through my many study and research stays abroad and seminars and workshops that I have led and directed, I think that I can be a good support for PoGS and the other PhD candidates in their studies. I would be very happy to get to know all of you personally as PoGS PhD canidate spokesperson.
With best regards and all the best and health during this difficult time (Corona crisis)
