Julia Fleischer has held the Chair for Politics and Governance in Germany at the University of Potsdam since April 2017. Prior to that, she was Associate Professor at the Department of Administration and Organization Theory at the University of Bergen (2014-2017) and Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam (2013-2014). She also worked as a research assistant at the German Research Institute for Public Administration Speyer (FÖV, 2010-2013) and at the University of Potsdam (2005-2010). She studied Administrative Studies at the University of Potsdam and Complutense Madrid, and earned her PhD at the University of Potsdam with the topic "Policy Advice and Institutional Politics: A Comparative Analysis of Germany and Britain" (2012).
