Jochen Franzke is Professor for Public Administration at the University of Potsdam since 2008. Furthermore, he is since 2005 director of the Study Group IV "Local Governance and Democracy" of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) and since 2012 member of the board of the Institute of Local Government Studies, University of Potsdam (KWI). Between 2008 and 2012 he was an honorary professor at the University of Humanistic Studies and Journalism in Poznań (Poland). Prof. Franzke is member of “The Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe” (NISPAcee). As guest Lecturer he visited inter alia the Universities of Erasmus Rotterdam, Tilburg, Lund, Vasa, Warszaw, Complutense of Madrid and the Charles University of Prague. The focus of his research include the reform of public administration in Germany, particularly at the local and federal states level, the development of local democracy and the transformation in Central and Eastern Europe (especially in Poland and the Russian Federation).
