Curriculum Vitae

Yassine Zarouk holds a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Technologies from the Faculty of Sciences of Abdelmalek Essaadi University (UAE) in Morocco, and -in Cotutelle- the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in Portugal. The topic of his PhD thesis involves the student-centered designing of new technologies and environments fostering 21st century skills in higher education. His current research interests include Learning Analytics and Design.

Throughout his doctoral journey, he spent part of his studies at the “Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science” Laboratory (LIACC) at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto following three mobility grants between 2016 and 2019:

  1. Erasmus+ Mobile+2 grant for doctoral mobility (2016/2017),
  2. a research mobility according to Framework of the Cooperation Agreement Placements between UAE and FEUP (2017/2018),
  3. and the ProDEI grant by the Doctoral Program in Informatics Engineering at FEUP (2018/2019).

Additionally, he completed his Master’s degree in “Software Quality”, a Bachelor’s degree in “Computer Systems and Software”, and a Diploma of Higher Technician (BTS) in Computer Engineering at the University of Abdelmalek Essaadi in Tetouan, Morocco.

Since 2009, he holds a Certificate of Teaching Profession of the Secondary Cycle from the Moroccan Ministry of National Education. Since then, he has been serving as teacher of Informatics of the secondary cycle, and used to be invited by higher education and vocational institutions to give lectures and mentor students.

In May 2022, he joined the Chair for Complex Multimedia Application Architectures as Postdoc Researcher in Educational Technology for BMBF-funded joint project "Bildungsraum Digital ( BIRD )".
