When not absolutely necessary we advise you to move the date of your disputation. Please contact the chairperson of your examining committee.
We ask for a very small frame of your disputation, to ensure the requested distance and hygiene and to keep the risk as low as possible. Please refrain from celebrations and receptions.
In very urgent cases when the date of the disputation cannot be changed and the participants of the examining committee cannot take part in person, the participants of the examining committee can be replaced (by the chairperson of your examining committee) as a first action.
In principle, according to § 14 paragraph 1 of the doctoral program regulations, a video conference for individual members of the examining committee can already be admitted for the disputation upon application by the main supervisor. The disputant is allowed to take part by video conference in absolutely exceptional cases. Furthermore a video conference can be requested by the chairperson of your examining committee.
Yes, instead of four printed versions of your dissertation, you can send a pdf by E-mail to prommnfuni-potsdamde. Alternatively, you can provide your file via Box-UP. Forwarding your pdf file to the reviewers is exclusively done by the Promotionsgeschäftsstelle. In case the E-mail cannot be forwarded, please check the data size of your pdf file and try to reduce it. After the current situation has normalized, a printed copy should be handed in for inspection by third parties. If necessary, a printed copy can also be requested by reviewers and must be provided subsequently.
All other documents can be submitted digitally in advance; the application for opening and other necessary proofs (e.g. master's degree, police clearance certificate) must be submitted in the original later during the process.
