Thorsten Martin, M. Sc.

From 2012 until March 2016 Thorsten Martin worked as a Research Assistant and Doctoral Student at the Chair of Public Economics.

His focus in research includes Applied Spatial Econometrics, in particular Public Finance, Political Economics and Regional Economics. His teaching focus included Regional Economics and Political Economics.

After finishing his apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, he studied economics and politics and administration at the University of Potsdam. After his Bachelor's degree he completed his master studies in public economics at the Freie University Berlin. While studying he went to Groningen, Netherlands, for an exchange semester.

While studying he gained experiences as a student assistant i.a. at the Brandenburg Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Sized Enterprises - Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (BIEM-CEIP) of the University Potsdam. He also completed internships at the German Institute for Economic Research and the European Center for Economic Research.

Thorsten Martin was a research affiliate at DIW Berlin in the department for Public Economics.
From August to October 2015 he was as a guest researcher at IEB (Institut D'Economia de Barcelona), Spain.
