Substitute Professor - Professor for Public und Nonprofit Management
Dr. John Siegel is Professor of Public Administration and Management at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and currently substitute professor at the Chair for Public and Nonprofit Management at the University of Potsdam.
Previously, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Public Services and Tourism at the University of St. Gallen (from which he holds a Ph.D.), as a Visiting Researcher at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair for Public and Nonprofit Management at the University of Potsdam. Before accepting the job in Hamburg, John Siegel was Project Manager in the program "LebensWerte Kommune" at the Bertelsmann Foundation. He is an Associated Fellow in the Potsdam Center of Policy & Management and participates in its project "Strengthening Public Administration Education in Afghanistan".
John Siegel's research and teaching areas include administrative reforms, (New) public management, HRM, strategic and performance management in the public sector.
