Transnational development partnerships provide governance-achievements in rooms of limited statehood. The subproject concentrates on partnerships which are concerned with the implementation of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals in divisions of energy- and water accommodation or healthcare.
We observe project activities on a local level. Our central research question is: Under which conditions are projects by transnational development partnerships effective in in rooms of limited statehood?
For this we are focusing on four transnational partnerships with projects in South Asia (India and Bangladesh) and East Africa (Kenia, Uganda and Somalia) namely the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Renewable energy and Energy Efficiency Partnerships (REEEP) and Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP).
