Julia Leib is a political scientist with a research focus on International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies and has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of International Relations since April 2020. She completed her PhD on the topic "Patterns of Sustaining Peace. A Systematic Comparative Case Analysis of Institutional Configurations and their Impact on Peacebuilding Success." in Political Science summa cum laude at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main in 2020 and previously studied Political Science, English and Roman Languages and Culture, and Social Anthropology in Frankfurt and Southampton. During her doctorate, Julia Leib worked as a research fellow at the Chair of International Institutions and Peace Processes at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main and was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in New York and the University of Liberia in Monrovia.
Julia Leib received funding for her doctoral research project from the Polytechnic Society Foundation Frankfurt/Main (2014-2017) and the German Fulbright Commission (2015-2016). Her current research project focuses on the impact of digitalization and the widespread use of social media on international peacebuilding and the crisis communication of international organizations, and aims to clarify the extent to which these new communication channels can contribute to increased interaction between armed forces and local populations.
During the lecture period, consultation hours are held on Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. During the lecture-free period, individual appointments are made. Please make an appointment by e-mail.
