Thomas Dörfler is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of International Relations. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Bamberg, Germany and an MA with distinction from Leiden University, the Netherlands. His PhD dissertation has received the 2018 Hans-Löwel-Prize and the 2017 Dissertation Award of the UN Association of Germany. Previously, he has been a postdoctoral researcher in the ERC-Project DELPOWIO at the Chair of European and Global Governance at TUM School of Governance. He also was a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)-UNU Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the UNU Centre for Policy Research, a visiting scholar at John-Jay College of Criminal Justice (City University of New York) and a consultant for the Security Council Affairs Division of the UN Secretariat.
His work has been published in internationally renowned journals such as European Journal of International Relations, Review of International Organizations, Regulation & Governance, Review of International Studies, Journal of International Relations and Development, Global Governance, Terrorism & Political Violence, and German Political Science Quarterly.
