The Chair of the Junior Professor of Jewish Studies with Focus on Interreligious Encounters was sponsored by funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for the Center for Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg and established at the University of Potsdam in 2013. The Junior Professorship has its focus on the interreligious relationships between Judaism, Christianity and Islam from the Middle Ages to modernity. It researches not only forms in which religions communicated and fought each other, but also their strategies in dealing with minorities and pariahs. This spectrum extends to research on the current interactions in religious cultures.
