Our Service for Institutions & Partner Universities

The ISCO is the right adress to contact if you are looking for a special course program designed to meet your students’ needs. Due to our years of experience in developing, preparing, conducting and supervising different programs with partner universities from all over the world, we are a reliable and competent partner for you.

In the process of designing the special programs, we primarily consider the needs you regard as relevant for the classes and the course’s cultural program. Our focus is set on:

  • A study program with highly qualified and experienced professors in modern premises at the campus of the New Palace.
  • Extensive support and assistance for your students, beginning with the preparation for their stay in Germany  and later on followed by on-campus services by our tutors and the course office staff.
  • Regular evaluation through our office in order to ensure both the high quality of teaching and the students’ personal well-being.
  • Organizing dorm rooms for the students in cooperation with the Studentenwerk Potsdam (student services).
  • Discounts for your students when visiting academic or cultural institutions.

Modular System

Over the years we have developed a very flexible modular system for various kinds of academic programs. We just need your wishlist: number of participants, duration, time and the subjects you want to have covered, and we will prepare a course proposal for you. These proposals usually consist of two parts: a basic and an optional package. You can choose from the different modules taking the ones that best fit your students‘ requirements. We will then organize and administer this program along the parameter agreed upon.

Veronika Jeltsch, German lector, College of William & Mary

"The program staff took care of a large part of the day-to-day organization of the program. They were extremely well organized, competent and effective."

The basic package comprises the basic course components, e.g.

  • the academic part including all teaching materials
  • extensive overall and individual support and counseling by the ISCO
  • all necessary material expenses
  • services provided for the participants, e.g. WIFI, discount on meals on campus, free access to all university facilities, etc.

Almost any topic or subject is possible. Your specifications are our guidelines with regard to workload, teaching program and materials. Usually such courses are supplemented by field trips to give the participants a hands-on experience of what was discussed in class. If this program then perfectly fits the curriculum of the participants‘ home university, the transfer of credits should also be considered.

The professors and instructors teaching in our courses are well experienced in working with international groups and closely affiliated to the University of Potsdam. They are carefully chosen on the basis of their professional and didactic competence. Program monitoring in the form of regular evaluations and classroom observations help us to maintain, respectively improve our high quality standards.
