The University of Potsdam is pleased to offer a free guest auditor program to students who have fled from Ukraine. As a guest auditor, you can attend courses at the University for a maximum of 8 semester hours (SWS) per semester.

Explanation SWS:

SWS is an abreviation of "SemesterWochenStunden", which loosely translates to: "Semester hours per week". This is a measure of how many academic hours (45 minutes) per week the course occupies in your schedule. This doesn't include self-study, only the actual time the lecture/seminar/exercise takes.

In order to participate in courses you need the consent of the instructor and pay a fee for the guest auditorship. For students who fled from Ukraine, the fee is covered by the International Office.

No examinations can be taken within the framework of a guest auditor status. Therefore, achievements from a guest auditor program cannot be credited to a possible future Bachelor's or Master's degree program.

Refugee students who have already been accepted in German courses at the Center for Languages and Key Competencies (Zessko) of the University of Potsdam must also apply for guest auditor status in order to participate in these courses.

You can apply for the guest auditor program:

  • until 31.10. (for the winter semester)
  • until 30.04. (for the summer semester)

Lecture period in the summer semester 2022: 19.04.2022 - 29.07.2022
