Focus areas and research associations

Focus Area Plant Genomics & Systems Biology

In this focus area, various research training groups come together to form an interface between Biology, Mathematics and Physics. Using a multidisciplinary approach, it uses experimental and computer-based approaches to analyse and model biological processes in cells, tissue and organisms.

Research Networks

The Institute for Biochemistry and Biology is a member of several research networks. See the  group websites for more information on research focal areas.

  • Unicat - Unifying Concepts in Catalysis is the catalysis research initiative in the Berlin-Brandenburg area.
  • BioMove - Research Training Group
  • Biodiversity Exploratories - Open research platforms for functional biodiversity research
  • Selected co-operations with a variety of scientific institutions
