Antibodies are most commonly used as recognition molecules in life sciences and medical applications. In research and analytical processes they serve as tools to identify and isolate proteins or low-molecular substances. In addition they are broadly used for therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Despite a high demand of antibodies in research, analytics, therapy and diagnostics, the generation of antibodies, especially monoclonal antibodies is very sophisticated. The production of monoclonal antibodies is still performed via the hybridoma technique. This technique can be very time consuming and relatively expensive, since the specific antibody with the desired affinity has to be picked from a big pool of naturally build antibodies via complex screening processes.

Our research team concentrates on the development of intelligent and efficient technologies to avoid those disadvantages of the hybridoma technique.
