My current research is focused on the interplay between the tectonics, Proto-Paratethys sea retreat and paleoclimate during Late Cretaceous and Early Paleogene in western China, southern Kyrgyzstan and southwest Tajikistan. A multidisciplinary way of research involving sedimentology, biostratigraphy, magnetostratigraphy, thermochronology and stable isotope geochemistry will be applied to interpret the results of this interplay.
During my MSc. in Turkey, I studied on the stratigraphy and sedimentology of the Upper Jurassic – Lower Cretaceous carbonates from Central Pontides and also on the taxonomy of reefal micro-encrusting organisms and foraminifera from the same carbonates.
