Overview

The professorship for reliable and energy-efficient sensor networks was established in 2014 as a foundation professorship. It is a joint appointment between the IHP - Leibniz Institut für innovative Mikroelektronik in Frankfurt (Oder) and the University of Potsdam. The founders are regional companies that are interested in researching and developing reliable, durable and energy-efficient sensor networks. For this purpose the methods for improving the fault tolerance of processors, memories and protocols, as well as middleware platforms to increase software reliability are investigated. The professorship consists of a working group at the Institute for Computer Science at the University of Potsdam and a young research group at IHP in Frankfurt (Oder). It is also part of the Joint Lab Wireless and Embedded System Design , which was jointly established by the IHP and the Institute of Computer Science.
