Linus Westheuser

Linus Westheuser is a PhD student at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence, Italy, working under the supervision of Donatella della Porta and Jürgen Mackert. His research deals with sociocultural and moral aspects of cleavage change, linking approaches from cultural and political sociology. More specifically, he examines symbolic boundary making among young technical workers and sociocultural professionals in Germany, exploring themes of precarity, moral economy, and deservingness.

Linus Westheuser has studied Sociology, Political Science and Philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, King’s College London and the École Normale Supérieure in Cachan. He is also a member of the Center of Social Movement Studies (COSMOS) in Florence and the Berlin Institute for Protest and Movement Studies (IPB).
