At Retresco we are passionate about natural language and technology. We have our own product, textengine.io, and provide custom solutions to well-known clients in various industries. Among these are, for example, Axel Springer, Gruner & Jahr, FAZ.NET, Commerzbank, and ImmobilienScout24.

We are looking for:

Backend Developers (f/m/d) at all levels

You will be:

Joining an agile team of experts from various backgrounds, such as computational linguistics, computer science, data science and physics,
Solving challenging problems related to both natural language processing and scalable web services,
Delivering novel, well-tested and reviewed features to our production systems starting at the first sprint,
Supported by our devops team: we run our own testing, building and deployment infrastructure,
Working from our beautiful office in Berlin-Friedrichshain, where we have a nearly infinite supply of Club Mate.

Our stack:

Modern Python, lots of async/await and type hints,
Pytest for unit and integration testing, Protractor and Selenium for e2e,
Tornado and aiohttp for communication,
Elasticsearch, redis and Postgres for persistence,
Docker, Gitlab and Mesos for development and deployment.

Computerlinguist (f/m/d)

What awaits you:

You will be working in an international team with people from a variety of professional backgrounds.
You will get to know the diverse challenges our customers face in automation and analyse their needs.
You will conceive and develop ambitious, innovative projects in the field of NLP, e.g. text classification and chatbots.
You will deploy your projects, integrate them in our customer's workflows, and maintain them in production.
You will have a high degree of creative freedom in the conception and implementation of your projects.

What you know:

You have completed a degree in Computational Linguistics / NLP or have been working professionally in NLP for several years.
You have practical experience in at least one machine learning framework (e.g. Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch).
You have very good Python knowledge.
You are familiar with various classification methods and have ideally already had some professional experience using them.
Knowledge of document-based NoSQL databases and experience with the development of REST APIs is big plus.
You speak German and have a very good command of English.
