Welcome to the Alumni Program

We stay in touch!

Studying is an important, eventful and formative period in people's lives that is not forgotten. The University of Potsdam would like to continue to stay in touch with its former students and find out where their life journeys are taking them. Likewise, the University of Potsdam is interested in how its former employees and its international guests fared. All those who are interested in a lifelong network are invited to register on the alumni-portal and take advantage of what the alumni program has to offer.
Even if the graduation or departure from the University of Potsdam may have taken place some years ago, we are happy about every alumnus we can welcome to the portal and hope that alumni will support us as advisors, cooperation partners or ambassadors and continue to enrich university life in Potsdam.

Dear students, dear alumni and alumnae,

After you have successfully completed your studies, you will leave the University of Potsdam. Although this marks the end of an important phase in your life, your connection to the university should not be severed. However, due to data protection laws, we no longer have the opportunity to contact you personally after your exmatriculation - unless you become a member of the Alumni Program.

Therefore, register now at the University of Potsdam's Alumni Portal to stay in touch with your alma mater beyond graduation.

With your registration in the Alumni Portal, we can, for example, invite you to the central graduation ceremony. Registration for the event also takes place via the Alumni Portal. In addition, you can benefit from the offers of the alumni program, be it, for example, discounted university sports courses, extensive continuing education offers, a lifelong Uni-Potsdam e-mail address, or invitations to exciting events.

Your Alumni Team

By the way, did you know?

The terms alumni (plural for alumnus [male]) and alumnae (plural for alumna [female]) derive from the Latin term alere for nourish and means pupil, "the enlightened one" or "the one nourished with knowledge". Persons or the pupils who were nourished with knowledge by their alma mater (Latin for nourishing mother) were consequently called alumni. However, they were also nourished in the literal sense, since originally they were also often provided with common meals by the teachers. Particularly with the founding of the first alumni organization in 1792 at Yale University, the alumni term became common as people who earned degrees at their university.
