HPI Engine: Decoding Venture Capital

HPI Engine: Decoding Venture Capital

Venture capital funds billions of euros into startups every year, but how does it actually work?
Who decides which companies get funded?
What happens between a founder's first pitch and the money hitting their account?

Decoding Venture Capital is a 4-week short program designed for university students who want to understand the mechanics of startup investing. Whether you're studying computer science, business, engineering, or any other discipline, if you're curious about the startup ecosystem, this program is for you.

The program runs over 4 weeks with 3 live sessions: 6th, 13th, 27th, of May from 4-6 PM, with a Harvard Business simulation between session 2 and 3.

What you get:
- Certificate of Completion from HPI upon finishing all sessions and the simulation
- 1-on-1 Coffee Chat with an active venture capital investor for the winning team
- Weekly Job Newsletter with curated VC job openings

This short-program is for bachelor, master, and PhD students from any university and any discipline. No prior finance or VC knowledge required.

Ideal for students who are considering careers in VC, startup founding, consulting, or tech or who simply want to understand how startup funding work. We can't wait to see you in class!
