    The DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center SFB 1294 “Data Assimilation – The Seamless Integration of Data and Models”, hosted at the University of Potsdam jointly with its partner Institutions HU Berlin, TU Berlin, WIAS Berlin and GFZ Potsdam, invites applications for doctoral and postdoctoral positions in the field of data assimilation (including statistical inverse problems, dynamical systems, applied and computational mathematics, and machine learning) and its application to biophysics, neurosciences and geosciences:

    How to apply

    As part of the application process please prepare a single PDF file containing the following information/documents:

    1. a statement of research interests and motivation,
    2. a full CV (including a list of publications/talks/presentations if applicable), 
    3. the names and e-mail addresses of two referees, 
    4. academic transcripts, 
    5. a link to an electronic copy of your Master's or PhD thesis,
    6. proof of proficiency in English (PhD applicants only)

    Applications are to be send to SFB1294@uni-potsdam.nomorespam.de. Please clearly indicate in the subject line, which of the projects/positions you are applying for (e.g., “A03”). It is possible to express an interest for more than one position. Applicants are required a completed academic study at an institute of higher learning (Master degree or equivalent).

    Employment will be made according to the individual conditions of the institution (TU Berlin, HU Berlin, GFZ, WIAS Berlin, University Potsdam) employing the selected candidate.  All institutions are equal opportunity / affirmative action employers.
