Policy-Making in International Organizations

This course looks at the interaction between international law and politics, illustrated through an in-depth examination of policy-making in the United Nations and selected regional organizations. After an initial reading of theoretical accounts, we will use case studies to explore the decision-making procedures of IOs, analyze the interests of member states and interest groups and to explain particular decision in policy areas such as peace and conflict, human rights, and sustainable development.
