Forschung
I am interested in understanding the early differentiation of the Earth into its two main reservoirs: the silicate mantle and the metallic core. In order to do so, I perform high pressure and high temperature experiments using a range of facilities from piston-cylinder to laser-heated diamond anvil cells (LH-DAC). The later tool is the only static facility that allows to reproduce the extreme pressure and temperature conditions of Earth’s differentiation.
