Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Elshorst

Prof. Dr. Elshorst

Hans-Jörg Elshorst studied Literature, History, and Philosophy and holds a PhD in Modern Literature as well as a master's degree in Sociology and Economics in the USA, which he obtained in the United States. After lecturing at the University of Santiago del Estero (Argentina), he worked i.a. for the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the former Deutsche Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ, now GIZ) as well as a Senior Advisor for the World Bank. Hans-Jörg Elshorst is founding member of Transparency International and was i.a. member of its advisory board, chairman of Transparency International Germany e.V., and Senior Advisor of the international section of Transparency International. Since 2003, he lectures at the University of Potsdam, since 2006 as a Honorary Professor. His teaching covers global civil society with focus on Transparency International, development cooperation and corruption, and sustainable development with focus on multinational corporations.

Dr. Lennard Souchon

Lennart Souchon is a retired Captain and has been teaching at the University of Potsdam since 1993. 1999 he became the head of the Department of Security Policy and Strategy as well as the International Clausewitz Center at the "Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr". From 2002 until 2004 he held a temporary teaching appointment at the Martin-Luther-University of Halle. He is a senior member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London and founded in 2010 the Clausewitz Network for Strategic Studies (CNSS). His teaching embraces strategic studies with main emphasis on Clausewitz, applying strategic theories to selected conflict regions along the periphery of Europe, Asia and Africa as well as a European Security Strategy for the 21st Century.
