Erasmus+-Program

Erasmus+ is a European Union higher education program that has been promoting cross-border mobility of students, university lecturers and staff in Europe since 1987.
The following European countries are participating in Erasmus+: The 28 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey*.

application process:

  • Find out about the range of exchange places at the Institute of Physics
  • For information on the Erasmus program, please contact the International Office or the Institute Coordinator
  • Apply for an exchange place by 31. January
  • Acceptance or rejection by the institute coordinator by the end of February
  • Presentation of the acceptance declaration (in one copy) to the institute coordinator, registration at the International Office by submitting it in April
  • Confirmation of Erasmus Place and sending of information material and application documents by the host university by July
  • Preparation of the study plan on the Learning Agreement (before mobility) and confirmation by the institute coordinator by July (winter semester) or November (summer semester)

Application documents to be submitted:

  • Erasmus+ Application Form
  • Statement on motivation and goals of the stay abroad in English (half to three-quarters A4 page)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Grades on completed achievements (PULS performance overview)
  • Proof of appropriate language skills (copy)

Non-subject-related applications

Applications from non-subject students are generally possible. The final decision on the admission of students from other subjects is made solely by the host university.

remaining seats

Information on available places can be obtained from the International Office, which can be requested from the beginning of April to the end of April. The allocation of the remaining places takes place via the respective responsible institute at the University of Potsdam.

List of exchange places

* Switzerland has not been an Erasmus+ program country since 2014/15. Students of the University of Potsdam can nevertheless study free of charge at the Swiss partner universities, but do not receive the mobility grant from their home university but from the respective Swiss partner university.
