Dr. Christof Schiller is an associated Fellow at the Potsdam Center for Policy and Management and currently works as project manager for the Bertelsmann Stiftung in their program “Shaping Sustainable Economies”. Prior to joining the PCPM, he was a research associate and lecturer at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin (2006-2012), a visiting researcher at the Institute of Local Government Studies of the University of Potsdam (2013) and a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at Sabine Kuhlmann’s Chair of Political Science, Public Administration and Organization (2015). The main focus of his research is on institutional change, comparative welfare state reform and public sector governance. Policy-wise he specializes in employment and labour market policies, poverty alleviation policies, family policies and strategic management in the public sector. He successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Potsdam in 2014. The title of the dissertation is “The Politics of Welfare State Transformation in Germany. Still a Semi-Sovereign-State? ”(published with Routledge, April 2016).
