Mowa Prosta und andere Begriffe aus dem Vokabular des Forschers in der slavisch-baltischen Kontaktzone

In my paper I discuss some methodological problems (collecting material and analysing it) of field research of the Slavic-Lithuanian borderlands (the region of the present –day countries: Byelorussia, Lithuania and Latvia), focusing particular attention on the sociolinguistic and ethnolinguistic realities and function of the Polish language in this region. I discuss the existence of a correlation between social, ethnic and linguistic factors that I have to know from research carried out in the last 10 years in Polish minority communities in Lithuania and Byelorussia.
