Living in the IBZ

The guests can board at the IBZ for a duration of three months to two years.
The IBZ consists of two modern buildings, which are connected to one another. There are 14 apartments in the blue section:

	3 one-room apartments with a kitchen, bathroom with shower, roughly 28 m² of living space
	1 handicap-friendly one-room apartment with kitchen, handicap bathroom with shower, Wash machine; 45 m² of living space.
	5 two-room apartments with kitchen, bathroom with shower; 41-43 m² of living space.
	3 three-room apartments with kitchen, bathroom with tub; 66 m² of living space.
	four-room apartment with kitchen, bathroom with tub, guest bathroom, 97m² of living space.
	one apartment consists of three single rooms, each with their own bathroom with shower and a common kitchen.

all apartments are fully furnished and are available for a pleasant ambient. Bed sheets, bathroom towels, and handtowels will be provided for the guests.

The rooms are equipped with televisions and telephones (the telephone numbers will also be available in the room) Computer Internet Access is available. A kid´s bed can be made available for "little guests," as well as guest beds with early notification.

There are refrigerators, electric stoves (and in some cases microwaves, coffee machines, hot water machines, and kitchen untensils) in every kitchen. Irons and ironing boards are also available to borrow.

Every apartments has a separate basement.
Coined-operated wash machines and dryers are also available.

Registration:

The registration for boarding should be supported by whichever Institute has made the invitation. The applications for reservation are to be directed on the IBZ.

Costs

The rent for the apartments includes extra costs such as heat, water, and electric. Telephone costs are calculated separately.

A security deposit for the apartment, to not exceed one month´s rent, is expected upon moving in.

Cleaning the apartment is the sole responsibility of the renter. Cleaning people may be hired.

Meeting:

An important part of our goal is to insure a secure environment for our guests and to connect them with scientific, cultural, and social settings. For this purpose, there are special rooms available for such communications.

A look into one of the event rooms and apartment

The offices of IBZ are located in the white building, which is occupied daily. A large hall connects the different rooms, which include a reading room, television room, and two seminar rooms, which through the use of a mobile wall can be joined to create one large room. Discussions, small events, conferences, as well as private parties thrown by guests can take place here. Table tennis, games, and books are also available for free time recreation.

The seminar rooms can be used for events for up to 40 people. They are separated by mobile walls and therefore can also be used by smaller groups for events, debates, and consultations in a smaller, more comfortable atmosphere.

These rooms can be used by:

	the occupants of the IBZ
	the members of the International Meeting Center of Sciences in Potsdam, Inc.
	other scientific facilities, institutions, and businesses of the region (mandatory)

Equipment:

	Variety of types of chairs
	Piano in the main hall
	Computer Internet Access
	Access to a "Tea Kitchen" (equipted with kitchen utensils, microwaves, and a dish washing machine)

Sign-up for usage of the common rooms is required. This registration form is possible by means of a registration form.
