Doctorate

During the course of your studies, you have enjoyed academic pursuits, received a good grade in your master degree in Jewish/Judaic studies, religious studies or a related discipline and now want to do a doctorate? Perhaps you already have a topic and are now searching for a suitable supervisor?

At the Department of Jewish Studies and Religious Studies at the University of Potsdam you can find a great number of professors who will gladly advise, support and supervise you in planning, financing and realizing your dissertation project. We have many years of experience in the supervision of excellent doctorands with the postgraduate college Makom, which is sponsored by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and Brandenburg. Doctoral candidates of the Center for Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg have been supervised by your professors since 2012.

Doctorands of the department are supported throughout the course of their doctorate by the Potsdam Graduate School and its various programs.

We would be happy to welcome you as a doctoral student. You can join into our interdisciplinary doctorial colloquium at any time. Please contact us and present your ideas. You are welcome to contact one of our professors, or you can contact Prof. Schulte, who will refer you to the competent professor.
