Research interests
I am fascinated by the variety and diversity of animal species in nature, especially their ability to adapt to changing conditions. Further, the interaction of mechanisms facilitating the coexistence of species arouse my interest. In previous studies I focussed on behavioural and ecological traits of different bat species with respect to feeding behaviour and niche separation. My current research project investigates evolutionary histories of extinct and extant mammals using NGS technology, including DNA isolation and sequencing as well as subsequent data analysis with bioinformatic tools.
